MEADOW & SAM
Longfords Estate – Lake Ōkareka
Meadow and Sam’s Longfords Estate Rotorua wedding was all about connection. With their children front and centre throughout the day, it felt more like a big family gathering than a formal event, and that’s exactly what made it so special. They chose my documentary photography package, which meant the focus was purely on capturing real moments as they happened. No setup shots, no posing, no staged bridal party lineups. Just the two of them spending the day with the people they love most, and me quietly documenting it all.
Longfords Estate is such a good fit for this kind of approach. The gardens are full of little pockets of beauty, with wildflowers, native trees, and open lawns that suit a relaxed, outdoor celebration. There was a warmth to the day that went beyond the weather. It came through in the hugs, the laughter, the barefoot bride, and the way the kids freely roamed the grounds without a care in the world.
Later in the evening, Meadow and Sam added on a portrait session, so we took a quick drive up the hill behind the property. The elevated view from the top is always worth the trip. It feels wide open and expansive, offering a beautiful contrast to the more intimate feel of the garden setting below.
After delivering their gallery, Meadow and Sam sent through this message, which honestly meant the world:
“I can’t believe these photos you have taken.. I cried five times when I was looking through them all, they are absolutely unreal. They are so far beyond what we expected, we are both in awe! You have done such an incredible job, we honestly cannot thank you enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are an amazing photographer, these mean the world to us. Thank you for being such a big part of our day!”
If you’re planning a Longfords Estate Rotorua wedding and want photos that reflect the real, unfiltered version of your day, documentary coverage might be the perfect fit.
