Georgia & Jack got married at Longfords Estate, perched above Lake Ōkāreka just outside Rotorua. It’s one of my favourite venues to photograph — peaceful, tucked into native bush, and always delivering soft golden light in the late afternoon. I reckon it’s one of the best wedding venues in Rotorua.
Their day was filled with thoughtful personal touches. Georgia home-brewed a batch of beer just for the occasion, cleverly named Wedding Dey after Jack’s surname, and friends baked their wedding cake. It all added to the relaxed, down-to-earth vibe that made the whole celebration feel so genuine.
As a Bay of Plenty wedding photographer, I always look forward to shooting at Longfords Estate. The setting is effortless — everything flows naturally and there’s no need to go far for portraits, with the lake, forest, and open lawns all close by. It suits couples who want something stylish without the fuss, and it’s always a pleasure to document weddings here.
