Julia and Simon’s Omahanui Wedding Photos capture a day where everything just clicked. From the start, it was obvious they were having the best time surrounded by friends and family. That feeling carried all the way through to the final moments on the dance floor.
As a Bay of Plenty wedding photographer, Omahanui is always a venue I enjoy returning to. Tucked amongst native bush, it has a timeless style and incredible natural backdrops in every direction. The ceremony setting is a standout, framed by towering bamboo and lush native ferns. It feels both intimate and uniquely New Zealand. Just as importantly, owners Aimee and Ricky create a relaxed atmosphere and bring a great vibe to every wedding.
Little moments throughout the day reflected Julia and Simon perfectly. The flower grandmas walked down the aisle while their golden retriever proudly took on ring bearer duties.
Later, we slipped away for sunset photos at an epic location just minutes down the road. The light and landscape made for some of my favourite Omahanui Wedding Photos from the day. It was also a chance for Julia and Simon to step away and soak it all in.
After the sun went down, the celebrations only got better. Meanwhile, Julia surprised everyone with three different dresses, including a mid first dance reveal where she disappeared briefly and returned in a completely new look.
By the end of the night, the dance floor was still packed, the laughs kept coming and nobody wanted the celebrations to end.
