Tara and Courtney’s Orua Beach House wedding was an incredible celebration of love, connection, and adventure. Documenting their wedding felt like a true privilege, and it was the kind of day that reminds me why I love photographing couples in such beautiful locations.
Orua Beach House is one of the best coastal wedding venues in the Coromandel, and in my opinion, one of the most epic spots in all of New Zealand. The views stretch endlessly across the ocean, and the property itself offers countless photo opportunities. For adventurous couples like Tara and Courtney, the highlight is the walk down the cliffs to Orua Rock. Standing together on the rocks with the ocean swirling around them created images that felt both powerful and timeless, and it was a moment they will never forget.
What made this Orua Beach House wedding so special was not just the scenery, but the dynamic between Tara and Courtney. Every couple is unique, and with same sex weddings I always love capturing the ways two people’s styles and personalities complement each other. Tara and Courtney had not seen each other’s dresses before the day, but somehow their choices worked together perfectly, a beautiful reflection of the harmony between them.
The connection between them was clear all day long, not just to me but to everyone present. Their families were overjoyed to see them together, celebrating a love that felt natural and undeniable. Those candid moments of family pride and pure happiness are the ones that really tell the story of a wedding day.
